Croatia, or Hrvatska as it’s known to locals and Croats around the world, is a Mediterranean country situated in central Europe and is considered a Balkan Nation, which dominates the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea.
Since Croatia is home to such a large part of the Adriatic and boasts a hot climate along the coast, holiday makers flock to Croatia is droves when it comes time to book a vacation. If you arrive in peak season (between early June to late August), you’ll sometimes have difficulty booking accommodations and getting around can be quite a hassle.

Within the northern and central regions of the country, you’ll find continental temperatures as well as mountainous temperatures, covering most of the areas with snow in the winter. Along the coast of the Adriatic, temperatures during the spring, autumn and winter are quite mild and tolerable, so if you want to escape the heat and crowds, try visiting in September, or October.
